The Old Tram Bridge design competition

3KC and Year 6 entered the Old Tram Bridge design competition.

The children had to submit their designs for what a ‘New Tram Bridge’ could look like if Preston City Council secures the necessary funding to rebuild the structure. There was no set criteria for the style of designs but entries were encouraged to show innovation with designs drawn by hand or electronically, reflecting both the heritage of the Old Tram Bridge and the local Avenham and Winckley Square area. The competition was sponsored by a number of local businesses and organisations, including studio John Bridge Architects, PR and marketing agency Fifty2M, David Cox Architects, Michael Bailey Estate Agents, and Friends of Tram Bridge.

Over the Easter holidays, it was announced that Sherwood Primary School had come joint second with St Gregory’s Primary school and won the £500 sponsored by Michael Bailey Estate Agents.

Well done to all the children who entered the competition on behalf of Sherwood Primary School.
