Mike Barnes

I began my school life in Chester, moved to London to train as a teacher before coming up to Lancashire 25 years ago. I am married and have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. I have been involved in education as a teacher, head teacher, governor and national adviser.  I now work as an educational consultant throughout the country.  I have a particular interest in Educational Technology being used to support and enhance learning in all aspects of school life. I am nominated Governor for IT and Online Safety. I sit on the Curriculum and Standards Committee and bring a wealth of experince to the Finance Committee. I also volunteer for the Lancashire Library Services as well as a driver for the North West Ambulance Service. It is a pleasure to work alongside such a committed and hardworking team at Sherwood.
