Year 2 Week 5 04/05/2020

Welcome to the Third week of the Summer Term!

As the School Closure continues, we will continue to follow this timetable of Remote Learning for pupils in Year 2.

Monday - A Weekly Curriculum Overview: this will provide details of key skills and key vocabulary to discuss and practise at home. This overview will also provide two curriculum activities that can be completed over the course of the week.

Tuesday - A Core Learning Overview will be provided detailing one English and one Mathematics task.

Thursday - A Core Learning Overview will be provided detailing one English and one Mathematics task.

Tasks may include experiences, online activities, watching an online video or a paper based task. Please ask your child to use their Remote Learning Book to record learning when appropriate.

Please continue to share your child’s learning with us by emailing:

Thank you for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions or queries. We are here to help!

If you want to complete any extra activities, Year 2 Recommends:

PE

  • Keep tuning in to Joe Wicks on YouTube every morning from 9am-10am. It is a brilliant way to keep the children active ☺️🤸🏻‍♀️  https://www.youtube.com/thebodycoachtv
  • Have a try at Yoga! Have a wonderful and relaxing time, enjoying the stories and movements in these great videos! https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga

ART

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday, an illustrator #DrawWithRob has an online tutorial at 10am. Have a go on a piece of paper or even your Remote Learning books! 🎨 http://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob

WRITING

  • Please can the children make a short diary of what they have done each day. This can be completed in their Remote Learning books or separately. We are living in history and we would like the children to have something they can refer to when they are older- we may have the new Samuel Pepys amongst us! There is also the COVID-19 Time Capsule if the children want to complete this.

READING

  • Please see below for 'Harry Potter and the Philsophers Stone' read aloud by Miss Hough.
  • David Walliams is also reading aloud some of his own short stories which make up his best selling novels: 'The Worlds Worst Children.' He will be reading these at 11am each morning. They are free. Tune in! https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses
  • We have also included some books on the downloads that you may want to read with the children which discuss the current situation and how to discuss any worries they may have at this moment.

MATHS

  • Please use the following link to have a go at some bar modelling! https://whiterosemaths.com/resources/classroom-resources/barvember/

PICTURES

  • Please see the children's videos and pictures underneath the Gallery section on the Website ☺️

Thank you for all your support and hard work with the children- it is very much appreciated ☺️
