Year 5 Week 4 27/04/2020

Welcome back for the second week of the Summer Term!

As the School Closure continues, we will continue to follow this timetable of Remote Learning for pupils in Year 5.

Monday - A Weekly Curriculum Overview: this will provide details of key skills and key vocabulary to discuss and practise at home. This overview will also provide two curriculum activities that can be completed over the course of the week.

Tuesday - A Core Learning Overview will be provided detailing one English and one Mathematics task.

Thursday - A Core Learning Overview will be provided detailing one English and one Mathematics task.

Tasks may include experiences, online activities, watching an online video or a paper based task. Please ask your child to use their Remote Learning Book to record learning when appropriate.

READING 

  • Please continue to read each day and record your pages in your reading diaries. Try and read out loud to an adult and spend time discussing with them what you have read and understood. MATHS

  • There are lots of different games available on Top Marks, many of which we have played in class. Focus on the areas that you find the most tricky, and challenge yourself to improve. Https://www.topmarks.co.uk

P.E

  • Each morning at 9am, Joe Wicks holds 'PE with Joe' on his YouTube channel. You can watch the videos at anytime - get the whole family to join in and don't forget to dress in fancy dress on Fridays! Https://www.youtube.com/thebodycoachtv

ART

  • Why not practise and improve your drawing skills? Every Tuesday and Thursday, an illustrator called Rob holds an online tutorial called #DrawWithRob, at 10am. Https://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob

SCIENCE

  • Every Wednesday, Steve Backshall (From Deadly 60) holds at live Q&A on his YouTube channel. Why not log in and see what you can learn?You could always post a question and get a shout out for Year 5 Sherwood School! Share your facts with us over email or maybe create your own wildlife Q&A or presentation?

OTHER IDEAS

  • Fancy learning a new skill? Why not learn how to sign? Log on to 'Learn Beginners - IT"S TIME TO LEARN BSL' on YouTube for 15 instruction videos by Natasha and Kelly.
