Welcome to Year 2!

Take a look around our class page to find out what life is like in Year 2.
Here are a few pieces of general information about what goes on in 2AH & 2SR!
Reading is a very important part of the curriculum. We expect children to read as often as possible. We ask that children read and then discuss what they have read every night e.g read for 5 minutes then talk for 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if you don't finish the book in 1 night. The discussion is more important. We will be changing home reading books on a Wednesday and Friday
We will be doing PE on a Friday. We ask that all children attend School on Fridays wearing a plain Navy Blue tracksuit (no logo's please!), their Sherwood PE t-shirt and a pair of trainers. Please note, children will not require a pair of pumps for the Autumn term.
Homework will be uploaded to the Homework Section on the Year 2 page a Friday. Homework will consist of: an English or Topic activity, a Maths activity and spellings. Homework will be related to the work we have covered in class. We will also be giving out spellings on a Friday for the children to learn, for a test on Tuesdays. Homework should be completed in Homework books and returned to school on a Wednesday.
Our Library day is a Friday where children will have the opportunity to change their library books. Please ensure the children have their library books in school on this day if they wish to change them.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
