Year 5 Thursday 8th October 2020

Good morning Year 5!

Well we are nearly there. We should be back in school, unless anything changes, on Monday. I really look forward to seeing all of your smiley faces. I have missed you all and our varied and widely varying days. It will be great to get back into the day to day structure of the school environment. It can't come quick enough.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your diary entries linked to The Legend of Gelert this week! There are still a few to receive so send them through and I can enjoy reading even more of your ideas! For me though, this week, the highlight has been the Science, seeing how you all approached the task differently yet with some familiarity between the investigations. Think over the next couple of days about how we might continue this investigation going forward, who knows, we could continue this in class.

As you know, Friendship is this week's assembly theme but with the Year 6 House Captain elections going on we are also revisiting the theme of Democracy. Think about what it means and how does it influence us in everyday life. I have prepared a little video on which you can find details of the candidates for each house. Could you choose one boy and one girl who you would like to represent your House colour and email me your choices. I will pas these on to the Year 6 teachers so it will be a little like a postal vote which some adults do at polling time. Think carefully about who you think would be a good leader and inspirational voice for your house.

As always, watch the introduction video which will give you an overview of today's tasks. Then, choose either English or Maths to start your day. Once you have completed that task, have a short break and then move on to the next one. In the afternoon, choose one of the History or Science tasks to complete.

Don't forget to keep sending your work through to me! I look forward to receiving it!

Have a great day!

Mr Stanton.
