Lancashire Magistrates visit Year 6

Lesson: Personal, Social and Emotional Education

Class: Year 6 Year: 2023 - 2024

Year 6 have enjoyed taking part in a Mock Trial with Lancashire Magistrates.  The theme was ‘Do the right thing’ and the trial was on the subject of Cyber Bullying. During the trial we were allocated roles, listened to the evidence and decided the outcome of the plea.  The defendant was found guilty and so we discussed the sentence.  We found out that the age of legal responsibility is 10 and that our digital footprint can affect our future. The session prompted many discussions about 'Doing the right thing' and our responsibilities in the online world.
