Susan Brownrigg - Author visit for Year 5 & 6

Ahead of World Book Day on Thursday, Year 5 and 6 were treated to a visit from Susan Brownrigg - a local author who writes fascinating mystery books set in Blackpool. Susan spoke to the children all about her inspiration for her Gracie Fairshaw series. 

The children learnt some exciting facts about Blackpool in the 1930s and had the chance to ask Susan lots of questions about her inspirations as an author. 

Susan also met with our Newspaper Club journalists who produce the Sherwood Voice each half term. She showed them a broadsheet newspaper from the 1930s and a book about shorthand.
