Safeguarding
Sherwood Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical, mental and emotional welfare of every pupil. We implement a whole-school preventative approach to managing safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all action taken. We recognise that no single professional can have a full picture of a child’s needs and circumstances. We recognise that if children and families are to receive the right help at the right time, everyone who comes into contact with them has a role to play in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking prompt action. Our Staff and Governors receive annual training to support their role in Safeguarding our children.
Our policy sets out a clear and consistent framework for delivering this commitment, in line with safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
Our Safeguarding policy and procedures comply with:
- Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education
- Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024
- Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023
- Working together to Improve School Attendance 2024
- Children's Safeguarding Assurance Partnership Guidance
- Sherwood Primary School Values and Aims Statement
We also take into account Guidance for Safer Working practice when developing our policies and procedures.
