Attendance
In line with our school mission statement and aims, we are ambitious for all children and members of our School Community. We are proud of our ambitious ethos and the determination shared by our children, staff, parents and carers.
For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education (academic and personal growth) it is vital that they attend regularly and every child should be at school, on time, every day the school is open unless they have an unavoidable reason to be absent. Any absence affects the pattern of a child’s schooling and regular absence has a significant impact on a child's learning and confidence in the classroom.
We are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to realise their full potential and every child plays their part in making Sherwood a sucecssful School.
Research shows a direct link between attendance at Primary School with good attainment, strong social development and preparation for secondary school/further education. It is very important therefore that you make sure that your child attends regularly and our attendance policy sets out how together we will maximise every child's personal and academic potential.
