Sport in the Community
Sherwood Primary School has a strong reputation for excellent Sports Provision and success in the competitive School Sports arena. We work closely with Preston North End Community & Education Trust on a wide variety of initiatives to support and enhance our provision for children at School. We aim to inspire our children through Sport and recognise the positive impact that Sport can have on our children's confidence and aspirations. Our children are actively encouraged to explore Sporting opportunities outside School. Here are a variety of links if you are interested in exploring additional coaching outside school.

Ju-Jitsu sessions are delivered in school on a Wednesday morning, from 8:00am. Classes are offered to pupils from Years 1 -6 and payment is made directly to Nippon UK. If your child is interested in attending these sessions, please contact them directly here.
Angela Mcneela delivers specialist tennis coaching before school on Thursdays and Fridays for Years 3-6. As well as school tennis she is the tennis coach af Barton Tennis Club on the A6 at Barton where she offers junior and adult sessions on Thursday and Friday evenings with an option to play in a Rise and Shine session on Saturday mornings. Match sessions are also organised dependant on interest. Both members and non members are welcome to play in coaching groups. Membership is encouraged as this enables players to practise between sessions. Membership is available for junior, senior, family, over 65s and there is a winter membership. ( Oct to March).
