Homework
Homework will continue to be assigned online and uploaded to our school website every Friday, to be completed by the following Wednesday please.
We expect the children to complete a core task for Maths in their CGP Targeted Question Book. Addition, subtraction, mulltiplication and division facts are the key to learning in many areas of maths; the 'Top marks' website is very useful for learning number facts, particularly the game 'Hit the button'. Regular practise of times tables and divsion facts are essential to support the Year 4 Maths curriculum.
English core tasks are to be completed in green homework books with a focus on practising grammar, spelling or handwriting skills. Please make sure each task has a clear, neat and underlined date and title.
Each week, there will also be a focus for reading at home with suggested points for discussion. Regular reading and discussion of texts is essential for children to develop as life-long readers and learners beyond primary school.
Please find information about weekly tasks set, on the Homework Overview.
If your child finds a task particularly difficult, please come and speak to us and we can work through it.
One of the main things you could do at home to help your child is to talk to them about their learning. Go through the vocabulary on our class newsletter, discussing your child's understanding of each word and how it relates to what we are learning in class.
