Reading in Year 5
As part of their homework, children should be encouraged to read each evening. The children still need to read to an adult to help with comprehension skills but can also read independently to broaden their vocabulary. Please record the reading in the home school diary each day, and sign the diary weekly. It is also helpful if you make a note in the diary of any new vocabulary you have discussed at home.
