Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Foundation Year: 2022 - 2023

EYFS listened to birdsong using the iPad to identify different species of birds in our school grounds.  We stood very quietly behind our bird hides amongst the trees.  We explored the areas where we heard the most birdsong and thought why this would be an appropriate habitat for the birds.  We discussed how birds are making nests to lay eggs.  This linked well with our Science Observation Area in our classroom, where we are observing our 7 chicks, who hatched last week in school!  We are also observing the lifecycles of a butterfly and frogs in our classroom.
