Sherwood Poetry March
Lesson: English
The children have marched through the month, with poetry inspiring them this March at Sherwood.
Each day, classes have shared their poem-of-the-day, selected and read aloud to by the children. And, we have written some brilliant poetry full of rhythm, rhyme and repetition, following our workshops with the poet Andy Tooze, which we have published in our Sherwood Poetry March Anthology (displayed and available to read in the library). Please see the gallery below for a snapshot of our anthology.
Each year group has also been busy reciting and performing a popular poem by a well-known poet - please see the videos below for their excellent performances.
Finally, our Easter Eggshibition has had a poetic theme this year - it has been truly wonderful to see how the children have been inspired by the poetry they have enjoyed in class.
What a poetic month!
