The Great Lancashire Debate Final 2024

This year, Sherwood has taken part in The Great Lancashire Debate. In October, our team of six Year 5 pupils submitted their video presentation on Housing and Homelessness to enter the competition. They were selected as Local Area Winners for Preston and enetered into the final to compete against other area winners across Lancashire. The final, which was on Wednesday this week, was held in the Council Chambers at County Hall in Preston. The children had to present their debate live to the judges and then answer unseen questions about their topic. The team presented with passion and clarity, and answered the questions thoughtfully and articulately. They came away with a shield for Highly Commended for their presentation and Maryman achieved Highly Commended for Individual Speaker. Well done Team Sherwood! You were simply amazing!
