Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Year 5 Year: 2023 - 2024

Throughout the second half of the spring term, the children have all learnt about a number of young people who have shown great determination and perseverance in their lives. This has linked in with the theme of aspiration. As a school the children have also been looking at our new challenge badge, "We are Sherwood, As one family, we all thrive and excel together. Each of us unique". Linked in with Poetry March the children also wrote a variety of poems celebrating their uniqueness. 

Those children that wanted to, produced a variety of PowerPoint presentations celebrating aspirational characters they had learnt about and presented then to years 3,4 and 6. Some of the children were also chosen to read their poems in assembly. All of the children did a fantastic job
